Death Becomes Them

June 12th, 2008 by admin

Characters: Media Eclipse, a Sin’dorei Mage. And Shivalia, Undead priestess.))

Media yawned slightly, making herself comfortable in the inn. Letting her hair down as she watched the door with interest
She sighed, Shivalia was late, as usual. The forsaken never did care about being on time.

“I’m here” a light yet shaky tone came from the hallway. Shivalia walked in as nothing was wrong and sat casually close to Media. “So, what did you want to speak with me about? Miss”?’ The forsaken women grinned, “I assume you’ve met my daughter, correct?”

Media frowned quickly ” I met her last time I visited the leaky bucket, why?” She looked Shivalia over curiously.

Shivalia grinned again, this time it causing Media to move in her seat uncomfortably. “You of course remember what we spoke of, and what you saw in the apothecary?”

She nodded “I do, you were, making something, alchemy?”

Shivalia nods, pulling a dagger from her bag “And here she is.”

Media eyed the dagger curiously “What do mean?” she spoke nervously, inching herself away slightly.

The dagger in the forsaken hand glowed brightly ” I mean my daughter, that thing you you saw me creating in the apothecary. What do you think?”

“I..” Media opens her mouth to speak but she says nothing.

“Media,” she laughed lightly ” What you saw me creating, was not a simple transmute. What you saw, was the creation of a new life”

Media blinked “You created a life? How could…how did you?”

“Do you really think it’s that hard to create a being, a mock soul? Really, this is something you yourself could have come up with. But I suppose you wouldn’t have the heart to do what I have, hm?”

“Shivalia…” Media stared at the glowing dagger “Explain yourself. What is it you’ve done?”

“Well you met Yvett, the curiosity of a child of course, a bit of free will, but of course she will always do as mother says”

“Shivalia I’m confused. do you mean to tell me that dagger is Yvett?”

Shivalia’s lip curves cruelly ” This dagger holds her essence, for the time being”

“But what about, I thought, she had a body, she looked just like any other forsaken” Media peers at Shivalia searchingly.

“Well I wouldn’t call her exactly a forsaken, However the body she occupies at any time will die and rot as normal, which is why I must get a new one every so often or place her essence into this dagger, wouldn’t want her getting free and just…taking over random people”. She grins wickedly, almost pondering letting this happen.

“How can you create something so dangerous?” Media shakes her head. “As, amazing as it is to do something so advanced I. cannot condone this.”

“Well I don’t really expect you too; I do however expect you to keep quiet. You do know what I’m capable of.”

Media nods “as long as you keep that thing away from innocent people. And do not, do -not- Shivalia let it anywhere near the bucket or even out of it’s…” She motions towards the dagger “Prison…”

Shivalia shrugged “She is my creation and I will do with her as I please, though I have no plans yet to do anything too drastic.”

Media breathed angrily “And just what is it you plan to do with that.. thing?”

Shivalia smiled up at Media, “You will address her as my daughter, Yvett. Not, “It” “.

Media closed her eyes “I understand if used properly..Yvett..could be a large asset to the horde. But it’s dangerous, if I know anything about this. And I do, She could enter any body she wanted and kill it from the inside, starting with the the person who already owns it”.

“No no she’s a good girl I think she’ll be fine” Shivalia grinned “At least she doesn’t take completely after me”

Media nodded coldly “If I hear anything…”

“You won’t” Shivalia snapped.

“I’ll wait for your letter”

Shivalia Nods, watching media walk out of the Inn.

Shivalia walked down into the apothecary, the room dark with the faint sound of bubbling beakers and small flames. She walked into the back where stray humans were held in a cage for the experiments of the forsaken.

“Oh no! Not another one, we won’t waste our test subjects on your little project!” A loud angry voice echoed through the apothecary.

The forsaken glared “I have funded this project myslef, and been supported by many here, this could benifit the Horde, besides, I could always just take one of your failed projects, providing it’s not already decomposed too much”.

He glared back at her “Your wasting your time if you ask me”. He grunted and turned back to transforming a human into several odd creatures with an elixer.

Shivalia shrugged, walking up to an opposite cage, eyeing a crying human female curiously, one of the more healthy looking ones. She grinned, the human looked up at her in terror and babbled a few words in common. She shrugged, pulling a dimly glowing dagger out and letting it glisten before the women.

“Do you know what this is”? She muttered in Gutterspeak. “This, is something that should strike utter terror in you and anything like you”.

The women continued to sob uncontrollably, she of course had witnessed this forsaken and what she does before.

“Contrary to what you have witnessed this really isn’t the worst way to die”. She sighed.

In seconds the forsaken had the women by the collar pulling her close, almost smashing her head against the bars of the cage, Staring deep into her red, wet eyes.

Shivalia grinned a sick, twisted grin and slammed the dagger deep into the womens stomach, watching her reaction as her blood poured out onto the floor.

“Now, we wait”.

She shoved the women down and ran a cloth along the blade to clean it. The dagger was no longer glowing at all.

The women slumped on the cell’s floor, her wound seeming to heal it’self.

Shivalia smiled as she left the ruins.

“Mother?” A small voice came to Shivalia’s mind.

“Yes, my child?”

Beginning.
